The coarse texture of wheat caresses my arms. The soothing whispers of the wind entwined with the tranquil sound of laughter fills my ears. The lethargic warmth of the sun kisses my skin and reminds me that I am home.
After travelling with my close friend Andrea (pictured) through South East Asia for three weeks, we had eventually found ourselves in my second home, Chiangmai, Thailand. Being a place where I spent most of my childhood summers, the serenity of the looming mountaineous plain and the relentless heat of the asian sun almost made it feel like I had never left. To my surprise Andrea also shared my memories and subconscious sense of attatchment despite growing up in the Philippines, teaching us that our cultural differences can be overcome by embracing and continuing to embrace the shared sun that raised us.
