EXP 2: The Final Architecture

The issue of excess fossil fuel consumption and use of unsustainable energy sources has grown in significance in the past decades, raising concern about the environmental sustainability of our actions. As a result, my architectural design stems around the notion of using and manipulating renewable energy sources, specifically water and wind to reduce the need of excess cooling in a building. By using a waterfall structure to create a man-made evaporative cooling system and developing a tall open-wall structure to the building, hot western winds are able to be cooled and manipulated to flow up, and through each module and reduce the overall heat of the building structure. Additionally, by adding windows to the walls of the structure on the north, west, east and south sides, winds from most directions can be controlled and channeled through the building to provide cooling.

APOLOGIES

Due to the consistent errors and inability to upload files to lumion, podium was used to attempt and render the sketchup model. Therefore a lumion video was also not possible. However, as the rendered materials were not to my ideal standard, turning off edges in the model itself became more appropriate.
